Xartec Salut, the network of innovation research groups in Catalonia led by CREB UPC, presents a unique map of the Catalan HealthTech sector

January 19th,  2022

With more than 1,300 companies and over 90 research centres, Catalonia has become the best region in southern Europe for life sciences research. Start-ups, research centres and health services represent 7.3% of the Catalan GDP.

A region that continues to be committed to a growth model based on research, education, innovation and entrepreneurial spirit, and which is currently in a booming moment for health technology start-ups. “We have an innovative ecosystem, solid projects and, above all, the talent to continue improving and positioning health technologies in the region,” points out Alexandre Perera, director of Xartec Salut and CREB UPC.

The Catalan HealthTech ecosystem map reunites the most important agents of our ecosystem, distinguishing between investors, R+D+i centres, business support and start-ups (pre-seed and seed). Would you like to be listed in our next edition of the map? Contact us at xartec.salut.creb@upc.edu

With the intention of bringing trends closer to all the actors in the ecosystem, Xartec Salut Observatory proposes a set of reports and publications on the latest developments in the HealthTech sector that will be share with our community within the next months.
