MyoSleeve: A wearable device for smart rehabilitation

MyoSleeve is a device designed for the treatment of musculoskeletal diseases of the forearm. It uses high-resolution electromyography to measure muscle activity during rehabilitation, allowing quantitative indices of muscle function to be obtained that the physician can use to decide the best intervention for the patient and to monitor it.

MyoSleeve has been developed by researchers from the BIOART group of the Biomedical Engineering Research Center (CREB), in collaboration with medical researchers from the Egarsat Mutual Society. It has been validated with healthy subjects and is expected to be validated in patients with lateral epicondylitis in the coming months.

MyoSleeve is part of one of the innovative science-based projects at the UPC that has received funding from the Generalitat through the “Knowledge Industry” program in the Product category.

This project is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) of the European Union in the framework of the Operational Program ERDF of Catalonia 2021-2027 and has the support of the Secretary of Universities and Revolt of the Department of Business and Knowledge of the Generalitat de Catalunya.
